New WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor
Hello! My name is Julie Neuchter and I am so excited to be helping support our community's mothers! We all know what an important job being a mother already is, but then to add on to that being the sole nutrition center for a helpless little baby you painstakingly grew for 10 months is hard! I hope I can be the person to help mothers reach their goals. My cell is 920-493-2577 if you or someone you know is having issues with breastfeeding or just maybe needs a nod of encouragement or support!
I have two boys, a 3 year old and a 15 month old, that I am still technically tandem nursing even though my older boy is only about once a day every other dayish for about a solid minute :). I am not a lactation consultant, just have had a few WIC classes but I am looking to help make breastfeeding more prevalent and achievable among mothers. That being said every nursing journey and mother is different, and so I hope to welcome mothers to nurse as long as it is working for both you and your baby/toddler/older child.
I am also excited to host Door County's breastfeeding support group, which is at 10:30 every first Wednesday of the month, except July this year. I'll post our topics for the year but please feel encouraged to talk of anything going on in your personal breastfeeding experience. Its very empowering to everyone to help encourage and share with each other, it helps to make our very lonely job seem like we're not alone! I'll try to keep our snacks healthy for our little ones, with maybe one treat for the moms discreetly in the back.
And don't forget to be a part of the Facebook page Door County Breastfeeding Support Page. We all have questions about breastfeeding we'd like to ask a few moms at the same time without judgement, what a great resource! I also tend to update that medium more often with relevant info.
Thanks for reading! Hope to meet you!
